Allied Motion Portugal, Lda has been established in the city of Vila do Conde, district of Oporto, in 2001, with a plant area of 4,600 sqm, starting production in 2002. The company initial name was Globe Motors Portugal Lda. It has been the result of a strategic decision of Globe Motors Inc, with headquarters in Dayton, USA, to create a new production site in Europe to support the launch of new automotive programs, producing customized Permanent Magnet Brushless Motors (PMBL) for Electric Power Assisted Steering applications.
Our primary target market is the vehicle industry, covering passenger cars and other recreational, industrial and material handling vehicles. Our strategic key capabilities are:

In 2013, the company was acquired by Allied Motion Technologies Inc enabling us to develop synergies and offering integrated solutions to niche markets.
Allied Motion Technologies Inc. is a global company that designs, manufactures and sells precision and specialty motion control components and systems used in a broad range of industries. While we serve a very broad base of industries, our primary target markets are the Vehicle, Medical, Aerospace & Defense, Electronics and Industrial markets. Our products and solutions support a wide variety of applications in these markets and include brush and brushless DC motors, brushless servo and torque motors, coreless DC motors, integrated brushless motor-drives, gearmotors, gearing, modular digital servo drives, motion controllers, incremental and absolute optical encoders, and associated motion control-related products.
We are focused primarily on motion control applications and known worldwide for our expertise in electro-magnetic, mechanical and electronic motion technology.
Further Allied Motion Technology Units are located in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Asia. We also operate three Allied Motion Solution Centers that create for our customers integrated motion control solutions that incorporate various Allied Motion products to create a uniquely designed solution for our customers’ applications.
